Perth Stadium Trail

Activate Perth, the City of Perth and the WA Department of Transport are collaborating on an urban walking trail between the new Matagarup Bridge in East Perth and the Perth CBD.

Initial discussions have identified Hay Street as the most likely route given the strategic plans for Hay Street and Perth east end revitalisation.

Stage one of the trail will be complete by May, 2018 and will comprise a combination of fun way-finding (that's a posh term for signage) and technology via an app to tell the stories of Perth people past and present.

The route will also provide opportunities for small businesses such as restaurants and retail precincts in Royal, Hay and Murray Streets to benefit from walkers using the trail. It should also ease pressure on Stadium access by allowing event attendees to park in dispersed locations along the route and enjoy food and beverage options at cafes and restaurants.

We hope it will also deliver health benefits by encouraging stadium attendees, employees and visitors to access the Stadium by walking. More news as the project develops.
